Pen, in my eyes it is more logical to invest the time and effort to incubate a double purpose breed instead of those mutts.
I assume that this mutts are for egg or meat, so is the double purpose, but with one significant difference, the pure breed have the POTENTIAL to be sold for profit something that the mutt surly don't.

I know Benny but these birds are my hobby. They keep me going in times when I don't feel like it. They are my mutts and they have been bred for meat and eggs. I've no thoughts of selling even the purebred Altsterier. I do sell eggs from all of them for eating. Last I figured it cost me $3 a day to keep me sane.
