EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Ok, so to sum it up duluthraphie suggested to nix the idea of the inverter due to fluctuating currents.
Ok, got that, I will not chance it and just wrap those eggs really really well inside a cooler.
I will also take the advice to wait till day 10 or 14(I think I will say Day 14-15)

Ok, so anyone want to explain why the inverters for your car would possibly fry the eggs?
I really don't understand electrical currents.
So I went out and bought a inverter to plug into cigarette lighter(or now known as USB/outlet charger)
My kids looked at me like I was crazy when I called it the cigarette lighter!
Anyway, I asked around, did some research, and my Brinsea octagon eco is only supposed to use about 40watt, and this inverter is supposed to be able to handle much, much more than that.
So what gives? Hmm,
I just don't understand the point of the silly thing that I had such hopes in, if it is going to either fry my incubator or my eggs!
Anyone ever used one of these things for your car?

Hummm
I believe I may have done this with no bad effect, but then HD has "a lot" of gizmos for plugging just about anything in ( - including stuff with a 240V UK plug on it) in the car for road trips.

However I would go with Ralphie's suggestion and wrap the eggs in towels (done that too for eggs and eggs mid hatch

) but I microwaved the towels first and lined a box with many layers. Need to be careful it is NOT TOO HOT . Towels worked just fine.

I am doing better thank you, kiddo is improved but not near 100%

Guess what I got! Brinsea 56 advanced WHOOT WHOOT!!!! THANK YOU EVERYONE, I had to put in a pretty penny to get this sucker, My Dad helped with early 50th Bday CASH..... I tossed it around for some time, I really didnt want any of their chickens

THAnk you all!!! AND @MyPetChicken too tHANKS alex!!

Wow, congrats! I am drooling.

Got the bunk bed thing put together and it's functional now. Need to finish sanding, painting and put the wood into place for the "headboards"

Kid slept in it the last few nights, she likes it.

I see bars on the windows; - is this advanced prep to the teens "under control"????

Ok, thank you for the info.
The light is flickering in my head

, and I am thinking HEATED SEATS! I have them, not sure why as I am in Texas, but I still have them!!
I figure, lowest setting, wrapped in a few towels, in an egg carton, what could possibly go wrong??
Hmm, maby I shouldn't ask that question....

Genius idea!
Try it out on a "dry run" with just a thermometer in there, and make sure it goes no higher than say 96 to be safe.

@duluthralphie somewhere I saw (and am too lazy to go back to find it) you said your hatching egg cartons were disintegrating after washing them a few times with bleach. Guess they will do that.

I use antibacterial washing up liquid and hope that the "0.001% of bacteria" that it does not kill are NOT the ones in the bator. Seems to work fine.

Love Lysol too (hate bleach as clothes end up peppered with white spots).

I have two drawers of Tshirts, one without bleach splotches and one overflowing with Ts with them. I am very ummmm OCD about cleaning waterers and stuff. I only go two days without spraying with bleach with dish soap scrubbing and rinse. My hands are not "ladies" hands by any means
