EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

No, I didn't
Do you know you can reclaim zip ties if you're careful?
I've heard something about it, but didn't have the time at the moment to look it up further.

Oh my! I just looked up hatching eggs on amazon and they actually have some, I never knew they did. Just chicken and quail though (not including the praying mantis), no ducks.

'course I would not buy eggs of amazon. I never want to buy shipped eggs. They are too expensive and have to low a hatch rate.
Seriously??

I am having problems with my chicks. 4 of my baby turkeys have died and 2 of my chickens so far more coming I fear. The chicks become lethargic sometimes loose their appetite then die on the ground. I have them on straw and they have been on the stuff for a couple weeks. The 2 chicks were from a younger batch and all of my turkeys are from the same hatch. The brooders are 50 feet away from each other in separate rooms. This exact thing happened last year and killed nearly 1/2 of my chicks. I need some help and quick. I already have them on medicated water mix of tetracycline.

Double check your breeder temp make sure it's not too hot also change out the straw for pine shavings it gets moldy very very quickly
