GOT THE HORSE HOME. NOw I'm dying. LOL We walked him a mile in 90+ degree heat to get him back to our house. LOL I used a bucket of feed to convince him he wanted to cooperate with us.

In other news - either there's a big litter of baby possums, or my life is a video game that resets every evening. So I can squish a baby possum with a rock over and over and over and over....

Too hot and sweaty to do any more, and it's dark anyway. Stick a fork in me, I'm done. I'll start again tomorrow.

Is he no longer able to carry a rider?
He can - but I'm not an experienced enough rider to ride a skittish, uncooperative horse on a canal home bareback, with out reminding him of his previous experience and work. I like to start safe with an unknown horse. :P

he's an ex barrel racer, but hasn't been ridden in about 10 years and didn't want to be caught.

Edit to add : I've always ridden bareback, and ridden horses who actually liked me.

Interesting how hot in summers? I suppose there's lots of humidity.
