I most certainly did not call you a witch, wicked or otherwise. Sugar also melts when it gets wet, smarty pantsMy foot fell off.
I think you called me a wicked witch!!
I do need a boat!
You like looking at all the coffee?
You didn't have to put them inside to begin with.

Like I said yesterday, for some reason I can't delete the parts of a post that I don't want to re-print; no clue why.![]()
Who knows? I even restarted; no dice. Went away for half an hour & it was unstuck when I got back
So, you were stuck on the one post because...?
I'll know more next week. I just started our second cycle. On the same regime as last month, but later starting in the cycle to give my ovaries time to clear up.
We are good to go, and I just finished oral meds, and started shots last night... so i go back friday, then hopefully trigger tues-thurs next week and then were back to the two week wait to find out.
--- We killed one of our roosters yesterday. He was pestering my daughter, and made her drop a dozen eggs when jumping at her egg basket. So dad... disposed of him.
We are butchering our big male tom, who hates boys since we have so many new turkeys to pick a nice tom from.... hopefully our pot is big enough to accomodate his body, because I don't want to just throw him away.![]()
I know the feeling, it's been raining since friday or Saturday.
Hello! I just figured out how to quote someone. I am doing good, just sold 3 cockerels. Too many chickens in my yard right now! I have a buyer for 4 pullets though, just have to wait 2 more weeks till she picks them up. Then I will only have 9 left. The lady who is taking the pullets is going to board a cockerel for me for the summer, so hopefully in the Fall I will have him back & be hatching out some of my own chicks! Can't wait.
Hey folks. I'd be online more if I didn't feel so bad. Been running some bad (but not super high) fevers and coughing like there's a sauna in my lungs. Been super dizzy too.
I want to take a nap, but I can't.
I have two roosters that seem to be fighting to the death. Okay, not that bad, but bad enough. I am not keeping either (bigger one is the wrong color, and the the other is too small, and has the wrong posture), but feel bad for the underdog. I kept breaking it up (I was unable to do much at the moment), but the small one kept going back!
I'm especially sad that I keep seeing a Silver Pencil Rock being an awesome guy! He was trying to break up the fight, and is always watching hens, and offering treats.
But he's the wrong color.![]()
Dad successfully butchered mr. peepers, and put him in the oven for dinner ^.^
Howdy.... stopping on too say hi
I picked s bunch off morels today..... made bluegill taco is for dinner.....
..... how you feeling whites?
I found someone willing to let me help out with their meat birds, so phew, I'm a lot happier at not winging it. Mr. Brat gets a temporary life extension, I guess.
That's partly why I got the ducklings... So I could still have some peepers this year. Hatching season is going to have to wrap up soon, so not much more time to try again on ducks.
Maybe one or two of the ones with better CAMs will still hatch.![]()
Phew, finally its a bit quiet.
So I got over the cold yesterday.... but then I have been sick all over again today with a small headache as well.
I dont know why I have been sick so much lately, and getting headaches a lot. Last year was nothing like that.
Stupid meat ants. They got into my Quail pen and literally ate the poor female Quail ALIVE! We didn't get to her in time, and the poison killed her........the male Quail has a big head wound but didn't get covered in meat ants so I'm hoping he will make it. I didn't change the Quails food this morning because of me being sick, and even though it's not meat, it attracted the meat ants, who though Quail tastes nice.....
3 bird they have killed.
Thank god it's a holiday! Getting the garden work done today, bought baby cucumbers and peppers for the field yesterday as well as the weed screen. The goal is to get the plot leveled, covered, staked, and get things in the ground today.
Baby's test results still aren't in! Gettin' tired of waiting to see whether we're having a boy or a girl.
We've also bought our plane tickets, and our Texas trip is locked in for 23 June until 13 July. Got a feeder on standby in my Ebay cart so the in-laws don't need to go out and feed the birds as often. Holds 64 ounces (so about 2 kg) which is nice.
Husband's mom is planning a big shopping trip for baby furniture and supplies when we find out the gender. Generous budget too, so I can get basically anything I want. Going by IKEA at some point to get the crib, changing table, and other furniture necessities and hopefully I can get my breast pump and stroller/car seat system (with reimbursement from the insurance for the pump). Diaper stuff (should we get everything ourselves) comes out to $131.62 total for 30 cloth diapers and 5 covers, so we're totally set with diapers!
So busy days over here. How's everyone else??
GOOD MORNING, AND HAPPY THURSDAY!! DON'T BE A DRIP TODAY!

Good morning, sleepyheads.
Whew...slow in here this morning!
Morning everyone!
My classroom chicks are 4 weeks old and officially outside. I finally have my bathroom back and spent a while cleaning it last night, was nice to not have to worry about the chicks and stench this morning!
Mr. Peepers was delicious ^.^ A little tough, but he was older than you'd normally butcher. But, he was good. Kids ate him. My toddler was cackling like a little loon, he knew it was "mr peepers" he was eating and it was funny to him for some reason. He did say "he hurt me, now I eat him" at one point ^.^
Turkey hens are strange birds, they keep the sperm from a Tom alive for 60-70 days inside them.
Because of this I have to be very careful with my breeding of mine. I breed them in January and pull the Toms for 6-8 weeks putting the Tom back in in March. It is the only way I can get two toms on one hen. I have never had a problem with infertile eggs in them....
It is not like a rooster where I can pull him and put a new one in in 14 days..
Also a little known fact, a Turkey hen can have a fertile egg with no tom around and having never been with a tom. It takes real special conditions to occur but it does and can. The chick/poult is always male and once it is born normal sexual reproduction occurs.
Two of the little puppies. They are two weeks old on saturday.View attachment 1017047 View attachment 1017048
