I am guessing the turkey poults talked the rest into a suicide pact...They do that stuff.
I like to sell turkey poults as young as possible, knowing the chances of them reaching adulthood is 1 in 546.326
My last batch of turkeys from last year, I had 5. And 5 made it to adult hood, although one of my females almost had her head ripped off by a cat because she was dumb, but after that, she learned.
Their babes, and the ones that got shipped, have been offing themselves occasionally here and there, non stop. I lost 4-5 in the first week after they hatched, and a few made it to older weeks.
I need a nicer tom and I wanted a bigger selection of toms to pick from so I could butcher the rest. they girls cause zero problems having them around, so....... I didn't mind keeping all the girls.
(according to my Dfit watch
)
Nobody said I was "right"
Mr. peepers tolerated me and my daughters, but hated boys. I need a tom who won't try to attach obnoxious boy children and just leave them alone. LOL
