I made an offer??? Really? I seldom ever make an offer other than giving my great and expert opinion on everything....

I do not understand what you need to see inside an egg though. I am very anti-candling. I candle once on the day they move from the incubator to hatcher. I see no other reason to candle.


BTW what was the offer I made? I might want to retract it today, I am in a selfish mood and the offer might have been too generous for my current mood...

X ray can be mutagenic and cause some mutation, especially in the beginning of the embryonic development.

Sneak mine through the x-ray machine all the time hoping to make a dinosaur! Or maybe a 9 ft tall wooly mamoth looking chicken..

@duluthralphie I switched to my cabinet bator with staggered hatched. I have been so occupied with keeping up and dr visits I just did the 2 time a day turn with a semi automatic turner. checked the temp every so often and added some water for humidity when I remembered. only candled at the very end to double check. The result... a 50% better hatch rate than what I was getting! stronger, healthier chicks. Waiting for the last few eggs to hatch and then shutting down for awhile to deal with my health and grow outs.

I am not prejudice, just curious, I, myself am greater Scandinavian, my wife on the other hand is Lesser Scandinavian and Lesser German.
