I certainly hope not. As far as it is across OH, you're subject to hit anything from 40* to 95*. In another two weeks, my guess would be low-mid 80s.

We've hit 95* here in June; we're probably about the same latitude (or longitude...I never can remember) as OH. Far more common in July & August, but it happens.

Incredible. Seems like Canada is the only place without that kind of weather in Spring... Further strengthens my resolve to stay put.

(I don't count Toronto as Canada. They're southerners hanging on to the North.)

Thank you for your thoughts. I too hatched fruit flies and had to divide based on the phenotype.

However, you have missed the point of my question. I did not ask why the eggs didn't hatch. They are in lockdown now. 7 out of 16. I am not asking about the package being drop-kicked. I am aware of all of this. It has no bearing on eggs without the blastoderm. If an egg isn't fertile, there is nothing I can do about it.

Don't worry about my candling. I spend very little time doing it. I see what I need to and move on. The difference between clear yellow and red veins is not complex to see (and if dark eggs, there is a better way). My question was regarding X-rays as I was told this would remove the evidence that the eggs had been fertile. I didn't argue with her (and she's not from BYC). But, that was her explaination. Thank you for your offer, but that isn't my point.

I made an offer??? Really? I seldom ever make an offer other than giving my great and expert opinion on everything....

I do not understand what you need to see inside an egg though. I am very anti-candling. I candle once on the day they move from the incubator to hatcher. I see no other reason to candle.


BTW what was the offer I made? I might want to retract it today, I am in a selfish mood and the offer might have been too generous for my current mood...
