I am sad about loosing both of my kids, but compared to many people I am very blessed so I am trying to focus on that. I am busy with spring fencing and chores, prepping for hay including cleaning out the barn, and work. Then I am studying for my next belt test, prepping and conditioning for my trip
Thus I have been gone a lot. I have missed you guys, but as we know life sometimes pulls us other directions.

I'm sorry you lost your kids. I lost one this spring so far, too and it sucked. It's always the girls, too.

It's like nature hates me, and I never loose roosters, or boy goats. Just hens and girls.

Sure... Your assignment is to hug three chickens by nightfall. Do you choose to accept it?

Do baby chicks count? because if so, I may, or may not have hugged two new hatchlings when moving from from the bathroom incubator, to the brooder box.

Interesting, I have only lost an adult doe this spring and these two girls too. The only other one I have lost was a bottle heifer.

I hope so, too! I have my nubian due to give birth here sometime between now and the next month or two? I forget when I got her, but it has to have been at least 3-4 months now and she was between 2-8 weeks pregnant when I got her. She LOOKS obviously pregnant now, 5 bucks though that she's only got 1 in there. it's her first kidding.

I can't wait to milk her and wean my pygmies. They don't make much milk, and I like the little buggers, but they definitely are not worth milking. Their babies on the other hand, are worth money at the auction, so I'll keep breeding them, then take boys to the auction.

Interesting, I have only lost an adult doe this spring and these two girls too. The only other one I have lost was a bottle heifer.

I haven't lost an adult doe, yet. But we are pretty on top of it for antibiotics for mastitis, or retaining the placenta for too long. I have my vet on stand by, and she makes house calls for 50 bucks and gives me advice via text for free. LOL

(which is good, because with as much as I ask her, I could not afford to be charged for every question. haha)
