Actually, we're missing quite a few. Abi, Sally, ChickenCanoe, CanadaChicken, RIR roost, Camping, Runt, & probably a bunch more I can't think of ATM. 'Tis the season; after the bitter cold of Winter & before the blistering heat of SummerWe're missing a few of our regulars. I wonder where they got off too........ maybe their chickens ate them
It seems that we are losing the battle here..... after the change we have lost ChickenCanoe, Jessimom, and now Abi, Chaos, Sally, and more good people! We're missing a few of our regulars. I wonder where they got off too........ maybe their chickens ate them
There's a lot of truth in that, unfortunately.Yeppers, we are..... One thing about the new format it is boring and hard enough to use and so many "friends" are no longer here, that I am getting more work done around here. I am not addicted anymore to the site.
Yes cooking after acclimating. Although these looked fresh as far as the size of the AC goes they were washed and 6 of the Dark Cornish Bantams were sweating, they are in a separate incubator with a couple of mine. Air Cells are loose. They arrived! And they're cooking.![]()

I didn't know that Washington is a chicken breed! DC?
Dead Colombian?
Doctor Calls?
Doing Chores?
Deli Closed?
Didn't Chew?
........
My broody hen, who's been camped almost non-stop on eggs for more than a week, quit the nest of 11 yesterday. She's been broody since well before then, but I kept taking her eggs.
I pulled all the eggs this morning & candled them. I saw ACs of varying sizes in 7 of them; nothing in the other 4. I checked Sally's notes & saw where the AC is formed shortly after the egg is laid, so I'm not expecting anything from the 4.
Temps were in the 50s overnight last night, & high 40s the night before.

Morning peeps.
Have a great day!Yes cooking after acclimating. Although these looked fresh as far as the size of the AC goes they were washed and 6 of the Dark Cornish Bantams were sweating, they are in a separate incubator with a couple of mine. Air Cells are loose.
These are some pretty good looking Dark Cornish Bantams if the picture is true to what I received
I've tried to get mine to stop now for at least three weeks. It's starting to get through to them. In the pen that I've chose to leave alone there are now three broodies. Really not sure what kind of mess is going to develope in there.
One of the reasons I've not been around as much the chickens do eat time.but they are not to blame for all of my absents.
Good morning how are the kids? The real kids.
Well I'm off to work things are abnormally busy there and stress filled. Time to get this party started.
Being so slow as it is is costing me a lot of $$$Yeppers, we are..... One thing about the new format it is boring and hard enough to use and so many "friends" are no longer here, that I am getting more work done around here. I am not addicted anymore to the site.
