Thanks. I think it's a predator. I've got a duck in the barn who appears to have been attacked by something and had Ms crawling all over hershe's doing much better now and doesn't have Ms on her anymore.

Possibly, my brother trapped one a couple months ago. We had a fox problem last year so it could be either but I can't find anything, no feather no carcass no nothing. That stinks, any ideas on what it might be, raccoon?
Ready as I'm liable to get 'til just before blast-off. Wish we were on the other end.Hi Whites!Ready for your trip?
You betcha! At the house and the cottage.
The earthworms get the lions share of the leftovers, veggies that is. Meat scraps and bones are frozen and when I get enough I make bone soup for the chickens.
The wood splitting is actually at the lake cottage, so there is a bit more humidity than at home. No interesting grain, the maple has been real straight, and splitting nicely.

That deserve 4 likes...I smoked half a turkey breast (just over 13 pounds). Turned out pretty good, going to do the other half breast and leg/thigh quarter soon.

The cherry sounds good.I might set some aside, wax the ends and do some lathe work with some of it. Need some practice, about all I can make with it is a mess really fast!![]()
Clouds have all passed. We're in good shape, for now, but we'll need some soon
NYour wife won't eat smoked meat?
I smoke a lot of meat, love making it, love eating it. I cheat sometimes now, a couple of years ago I bought a Bradley smoker, but now that I have a seemingly unlimited supply of cherry, I'll get to use the stick burner some.![]()
These earthworms wouldn't live too well in the garden I'm told. They thrive on rotting vegetables etc. they don't do to well in regular soil unless you add vegetables to a spot in your garden. They do however need some soil or grit mixed in with their veggies or it becomes a stinking mess real quick.I have no earthworms, I life in a sand dunes, literally. I am surrounded by the Sand Dunes State Forest.
Don't know that I've ever had any maple that split easily; usually a twisty, snarly mess that doesn't stack worth beans.
