Funny it looks like a propane tank to me.
Ok...so these birds are genetics from the originals to maintain the specific genetics "in case" of disaster??Established as in breeding flocks that others have so I do not lose the genetics in case of a disaster here.
I'll look more into this.Lots of newer versions that do more than ours of just a few months ago
I used to go fishing in the rain all the time..... then I got old.I know rain rain rain.. here too.
It happens to the best of us. At least that's what I keep telling myself.I used to go fishing in the rain all the time..... then I got old.

It was 102 here.
I am supposing you are preparing for Hades, I cannot think of any other reason to stay in those temps.
Because I have a 12 month growing season!

Some of my chickens too
My sister is always saying why have a perfect chicken if it doesn't work for you? If it meets all the qualifications but doesn't do you any good then why keep it.
Got the coop door fixed, two months later... Now a 70 year old blind arthritic coon would have to walk in instead of lazily backing up in the general direction of the door.
My back hurts, and i'm grumpy. I'm hoping a good night sleep helps. I was nesting something fierce.... I cleaned my closet, moved 2 dressers, moved a mini fridge, cleaned 3 rooms, and put away 2 bins of laundry, plus outside chores and kid care.
I'm anxiously awaiting the ability to wake up in the morning and pee on all those glorious sticks, just to be told I'm infact, not pregnant and will need to go hug all my chickens and suck it up for next time.
Ugh Isn't that Bert?
I do... I have several flocks of them, hopefully, established now.

Well, I survived the hauling of cinder blocks (probably because it only got to 94F), and worked my tail off until dark (with some breaks for chicken hugs)...
Yikes. As much as I adjust to summer time temperatures, once it's over body temp outside here, it's a whole different level of difficulty (at least for me). I grew up in hot and humid (New Orleans, Atlanta), and moved to hot and dry. The first few years here, I almost put myself in the hospital a few times because my perceptions of when it was "too hot" all included humidity, and I would stay out too long in the full sun at 104F. I've learned to take scheduled breaks now.
I'm with Dan - I far prefer it this way. We have little to no winter at all here. LOVE gardening in the fall/winter.
Phil, you have gorgeous ducks and chickens.
Gotta agree with that - well said!!!!
(Well, it's progress, I suppose.)
(Already looking forward to Red Lobster!!! Mmmmmmmm.... chowder!)
NO HATING ON THE TOADS!!!!! Bert is marvelous! And regardless of the dux thing, Ralph's is brilliant for his work with them.
One day I might get some toad eggs from you to hatch in the fall - maybe make a NN version?
I saw one today when I went to BBB - Philips. Looked almost identical to the one in your photo.
Full day today - just had a caprese salad, and roasted a chicken. Broiling potatoes while the chicken rests, will steam some zucchini, and dinner! (And I'm hungry!)
Got some good pics today, will post in a separate post...
