EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Funny you asked, we actually had the neighbors dog bring us a couple. What you're feeding it should be fine, they only eat once or twice a day anyway. We fed the ones we had twice a day. You're gonna want to wipe its rear with a warm wet cloth every once in a while, they can't use the bathroom on their own for awhile.

Hey DAN if you see this, I need baby bunny advice?!?!?!?

My daughter's dog, brought us a baby bunny with it's eyes not open yet. We did a little googling, and were able to make it a nest under the heat lamp in the brooder room for it, and syringe feed it 1-3cc's of kitten/goats milk.

They said if it's found stressed out/dehydrated it's chances of survival are about 10% but it was in semi-decent shape when we found it, and it appeared fairly healthy, despite being carried by a dog.

(I'm just surprised he didn't kill it and actually brought it to us alive???)

We would have just put it back in it's nest, but had NO idea where he got it from :(

Any tips for syringe feeding and taming a wild bunny. I told my daughter since it's survival rates are so low, if it survives, she can keep the stupid thing.
I don't know what it is about wild bunnies but I've tried this myself and known others who have tried. . it has never been very successful for anyone I've known. Best of luck!

Good morning Mike things are really cool here this am. Only supposed to be 95. Maybe the high 80's next week. Awning screen to to hang today and some chicken subtraction as well. I have tomorrow off so I should be able to accomplish both and then some.

It was around 60 this morning, now it is up to 70 with 55% humidity, and a nice breeze. Just came in from weeding. Hopefully I'll be heading out to the lake after supper.

I know their odds of making it are about 1 in 10. So... definitely low odds... but my daughter insisted we try. Because of the low odds, I told her she could keep it, if it survived.
