EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I've been quiet. I had a really bad day on friday, I was told baby B was gone and I had a vanishing twin. I refused to believe it so I went and got a second opinion. The second tech was able to find baby B instantly, including baby/yolk sac, but the sac is smaller than it should be, which 80-94% of the time, will end up in miscarriage unless it grows drastically in the next couple weeks and catches up to the other sac.

So, I'm trying to cope with the potential loss of baby B. I go back wednesday for a more detailed scan to find out if she's' got a heartbeat, or if she's already gone. I'm just so upset.

Morning! Happy Canada day! Been up for a while my friend made us cinnamon rolls for breakfast :loveshe's such a good host. Like a sister to me we've been best friends since middle school. Going to smoke some ribs this afternoon and then blow some stuff up lol! Should be a fun day.

Sounds like a great day!

Morning, all!!!! (Well, I'm just up, so to me it's morning and I'm sticking to it!)

Several folks here have hatched/raised them and can help if you have trouble sexing them.

I celebrated the start of my first "real" vacation by binge watching Hannibal (TV series) until 3am. Slept until about 11:30am, and am now having watermelon and black coffee for breakfast. I think I'll start watching Hannibal again. Maybe have a cookie and a beer. It is vacation after all. (I'll get back to the manual labor soon enough.)

Good you should take some time to just relax.

Due to only one NN hatching out of all the eggs I'm now the proud owner of two dominques chicks to keep him/her happy. The feed store picked them out. Same age but one is at least twice the weight of the other. Supposed to be both hens. We will see.

Good luck!

Because some don't know, and most aren't thinking about it.

Interesting. I use a certain amount of limes, and haven't had an issue, thankfully.

Got a not-so-happy surprise this afternoon. One of our freezers went belly up sometime while we were in WI. $300+ in lost meat.

Anyone know if the average homeowner policy would cover it?

Sorry that happened, don't know about the insurance.
