Oh, didn't realize the heat had taken a toll on the toads, that's too bad. Glad you have some pullets starting to lay.

It seems "Murphy's law" hits toads really hard. I only had 5 hens to start with. Ms Murphy makes sure I get adequate roosters though..:he:he

I have never had a hen die of an impacted egg until a toad did. One managed to get itself stuck UPSIDE down between the roost and a corner in their coop......N one said toads were smart...

One had a bad heart, always a concern... then the heat took one..

I have Bertha left and she lays heavy for a week to 10 days then seems to go into a 10 day break. I am thinking she is closing in on the Toads Menopause age. She is 3 now. She outlived her daughters..

Here is the one I hope to make the next Bert and do a generation jump. I love his color and he is a lanky teen with a great frame.

They don't appreciate the sacrifices and hard work we put in to ensure that future generations would never again have to walk uphill both ways.

You are right about the hard work. It took us a while to work out all the laws of Physics and stuff on a macro scale, but we did it, and made the world a better place for the kids.

Not today, I've got GLWs scheduled for the 8th though.

Good luck!
