EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Got yet another broody.... This one's a sexlink. Do you chooks not know the reason I bought you was because you didn't go broody??? :barnie
I had a black leghorn that was my most reliable broody.
Our flock of 100 whit leghorns when I was young always had a couple hens in broody jail.
Me too....
I forgot to mention that I was in the middle of a dissertation on other reasons to believe that humans are the cause of global warming when the site went down and it was lost when my computer died.
Woke up early today due to my cat who thinks he is a dog licking me in the face. He has been a real stinker since my daughter moved out and took her cat with her . . guess he is lonely and bored.
What part of Missouri are you in?
Good morning all. Feeling rather discouraged today. I lost another poult last night and 1 this morning, a chocolate. I'm down to 9 of the origional 16 that arrived safe in the mail. I've lost more of these shipped poults than I lost in my entire hatching season this year :hit
You have 3 poultry labs in PA. I would send a bird for necropsy or better yet send a live sickly bird for euthanasia and lab tests. Same price.

They just seem to stop. They just stop eating, lay down and die. They look good and healthy one day, then the next, they're weak. I just don't know what to think. I'm doing the same thing I anyways do with my own home hatched poults.
Yes, they're seperated in a brooder with 1 chick (a tutor) but they're from a certified NPIP flock that does extra testing. They just get lethargic and die.
NPIP only certifies the flock is pullorum/typhoid clean. Many other things could be the problem.

Perfect. You get the coffee, I get the chocolate. We're both happy.
Thanks for the song.
I needed to get another earworm out of my head.

While watching the video I was thinking those screaming fans are fat grey haired ladies in their 70s if they're still alive.

White?! Who wears white?!
Not bikers.
My underwear is white, or mostly so.

Well, T-shirts are white, aren't they?

Still, it's a bit funny to show up to church in just that.
Depends on one's climate.
