Hopefully before it is a crazy arctic freezer again! (I am not able to go too far away from home at this point with my father in the condition he is in.) Some days I can barely leave home to come to work.

Fortunately, for the last year & a half of Dad's life, we had a lady here all day during the week while we were both at work.
Just got word today that the wife of a good friend of 40+ years standing is being transferred from the hospital to a hospice facility, maybe today; hospital can't do anything more for her. Doesn't know anyone; doesn't even know anyone's there. Doubt she'll be there very long, thankfully.

Nope Whites Can't drive anymore and they are denying transportation to and from therapy Bill can get me to my dr apts but he cant leave work early for therapy. My dr wrote a note stating i needed transportation and these are the responses I got back...

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. My phone stopped working on 7/26 all at once. I just got a new one up and working. I also went on vacation to the Upper peninsula for a long weekend. There was no internet service available.



I have emailed and now spoken to Ms. Easter. She is investigating the need for medical transportation and is not authorizing coverage at this time. She will be in contact with you directly by email regarding this issue.

I am going to need to request a second opinion, from the physician who evaluated you on June 1, 2017 for an IME, Dr. Stanley Sczecienski, to determine if transportation to/from O.T is reasonable and/or necessary, before it can be authorized. I’ll get back with you once I receive Dr. Sczecienski.

Maybe a volunteer service? There must be some of them around. I know there are outfits that come pick up seniors who can't get around & carry them to the grocery store & doctors appointments.

I can lay down for a couple hours only. I have to sleep sitting up the majority of the night.

I know I have missed a bunch but what happened Ralphie??

Oh, Mel, I fear nothing I am thinking at this moment should be spoken aloud or typed as it would not help you other than to let you know this:

I am on your side.
I think about your predicament frequently and wish I could do something to help you. Is there anything I can do? Please PM if there is.

Please join in whenever you are able - we love hearing from you, and you certainly won't be interrupting anything!

p.s. Whites has a great idea about looking into volunteer services. Maybe even local churches with community volunteers?

Just back in from cleaning gutters and adding flashing to roof so hopefully no leaks this winter like last winter.
