In recent news, one of my hens turned out to be a roo (in my avatar) so he had to go. The girls will start laying any day now and I'm researching to find me a show chicken!

Chanteclers... What do you want them for, 4-H? Start with white if you're being smart; the partridge pattern is not an easy one to get right.
Be prepared to cough up your life savings for anything worth showing, because if I remember right, you don't have the room to raise multiple chicks to maturity.

Yes, for 4-H and yes, I can't have more than ten but since my hen is a roo, I have an opening
One opening isn't much. If you get a chick there will be a high chance it has some disqualifying flaw. Started birds give you a higher chance, mature birds are best but truly good birds are rarely parted with for any reason.

I happen to know the whereabouts of some PC chicks available for adoption around the 17th of August.... They are set to break out of their eggs on the 16th.
