Be prepared to cough up your life savings for anything worth showing, because if I remember right, you don't have the room to raise more than a few birds and select from them.
One opening isn't much. If you get a chick there will be a high chance it has some disqualifying flaw. Started birds give you a higher chance, mature birds are best but truly good birds are rarely parted with for any reason.Yes, for 4-H and yes, I can't have more than ten but since my hen is a roo, I have an opening
