EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Current weather, 59F, dewpoint 58F 97% humidity. It's supposed to dry out a bit as it heats up.
I'm going to an herbal infusions class this morning at Cheryl's Herbs.
Herbal Infusions
This class will incorporate the use of Medicinal Herbs with our oils. We will make some herbal infusions that you will be able to use alone or with essential oils in some other products.

I will be making a bumblefoot treatment of Calendula, Echinacea and Hypericum. I have a rooster with a persistent case.

And see...I lift all the broody hens 2-4 times to collect the eating eggs ...lol.
I also go by what the hens do. Last year I had a buff Silkie get off her nest of hatching guinea eggs and go eating for about an hour. They all hatched fine. I lift the broody hens at will whether they're setting on eggs or not. Chewbacca got lifted multiple times throughout her set. I candled. She got checked 3 times on hatching day alone...lol. I still get chicks regardless.

Whatever works for you. I just figure they've been hatching chicks without human intervention for millions of years.
I put broody hens and their eggs in their own apartments with fresh bedding food and water. I sometimes don't check on them for days at a time and then only to peek in the window to make sure there is still water.
If it is cold, they may come off the nest once a day for about 15-20 minutes but will skip some days. If it is hot, they may come off for a couple hours a day.
They know what they're doing.

I was meaning which brand? :lau I had to ask because we had such different experiences installing netting yesterday. Is it a premier brand, the lower cost with the lighter poles? Or is it like the following pic...I don't even see this particular netting on premier's site but it's from Premier because it's the one feed store stocked it and it was on sale.

It's the low conductive type wires (cheapest) ...but we were only getting three packaged lengths of it and we figured it would be sufficient for this. It's snapping 5. If I was fencing a larger area...I'd go with the white poly conductive wire from Premier or the alternate strand from the other company (can't remember at the moment) I researched this to death last year.

We just put this up today. I thought it was much easier than I expected and I really love it. If my back wasn't hooped I could do it myself. DH started putting it in and it was sagging so I sent him to hold the fence and I put the posts in. I found using my foot on the bottom spike to stretch out the fence made the world of difference. The ground is terribly uneven so I added a white post in the first pic to pick up the wire so it didn't touch on the ground. The added post is the 2nd post to the left of the fencer. Yep, you all can see it now, right? :D

The third will get added in soon. If I don't get the fox.:smack

Do you have a Premier catalog? They send them to me all the time because I bought a couple of their brooder heat plates.
I helped a friend install the same system you have. It works well for them.

THE fox? As in singular? Don't they have brothers, sisters, a mom a dad, aunts, uncles, cousins, offspring?
