EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I have(had) 3 peafowl eggs under a broody. Gave her the eggs July 31st (afternoon). They have been looking perfect when candled, plenty movement.

They started hatching yesterday which would be day 26! 2 are out and dry.

The third hasn't pipped.

I gather from the instructions so far...don't do anything until day 28 or 29?

Also, I planned to take the peas as they hatched and brood them indoors. And I added 3 chicken eggs to her clutch about 8 or 9 days after the peas.

One of those got cracked yesterday and today is a bit crushed, Looks like membrane is intact.

Thinking probably best to leave it with the broody, it's not ready to hatch for another few days. Should I try to repair the shell a bit, tape?

Yes, don't mess with eggs under broodies.

Where is it crushed? I'd probably leave it at this stage of the game, but nu-skin might make a germ barrier if it's not right at the zip line.

Kiki is really getting hammered right now... I think she would really appreciate some prayers.
No recent update but she said last night they got 10" of water in 90 minutes. Water was already up to her door.
The weather forecast called for 60" of rain in the Houston area over the next several days. That's 5 feet!

Thanks for reassuring me! It was really hot the days they were shipped, Possibly started developing in transit!?! Fingers crossed. See what happens in the next 12 hours...

The crack looked like at where zip would be crush is down on the side from that. Bit bigger than a quarter. I could put some medical tape over/around to protect it from being further smashed by the hen and the peachicks??
