Yes they are. Super careful to only shoot into compost pile. And won't shoot when neighbors are home. Too risky. Thinking of rat traps for the squirrels near their holes. Attached to log or plywood

We mostly dispatch them in the live traps. DH learned that 22LR rat shot puts holes in the barn tin roofing the hard way. We also have 38 cal shot for coons that like to tear open of chicken wire pens.
