EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

We've seen signs of possums, so that would be my first guess.
possums will eat some of the bird
They're basically the garbage disposal of our environment. They won't go to the trouble to kill an animal unless they're hungry enough to eat their fill.

my eggs were cold this morning will they still be able to hatch got down to 92
Yes, they should be able to. How old?

We usually talk health, the cause of global warming and weather but since the start of this thread is incubating, I'll report that I have eggs opening like popcorn. I don't know how many but I had 1 hatch under a broody hen that got herself killed because she couldn't get the chick to go in at night. She was eaten but the chick escaped. 3 more eggs hatched 2 days later so it has friends. Another egg she was sitting on hatched 2 days ago and now about 30 eggs are hatching.
I have to clean a building out for them.

Why did you stop riding?
I'm getting older.. Health problems too...and, I have not owned my own horse. I used to ride my, former in-laws horses. In high school, I had friends that had horses. Oh man we had fun riding in the river bottoms. Through fields, and would go to the fair grounds ring. With my in-laws horses.. one in particular, a favorite palamino .. I would ride up in the foothills of our beautiful mountain we lived at the bottom of. Hmm, memories. Had another friend with horses too. Didn't ride hers as often. But, I was on a horse often when I had the chance. I remember her dad was there with us one day when he suggested my friend get on their stallion. He hadn't been ridden much. She said no way! I said, I Will! He chuckled, said ok. Got the big boy ready, I got up and off we went. Lol.. took me a min. to get my thoughts right, but I got him under control. He was great to ride around the pasture once he knew I wasn't going to give up on him. Pretty frisky that one. Fun times. :)
