EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I have people who don't like my $2.40 a pound for a half a steer on hanging weight. I tell them to go to Walmart and pay ten plus for nasty steaks I don't care. I am not making anything as it is, just hay money for my mamma cow. :tongue to them
Dax if I was living near you I would pay you 10$/kilo any time!

A neighbor farmer took 3/4 his swine stock to auction 6 mo's ago. Lost his rear end on the stock but helped him by not dumping more money into them with continued high feed costs. That's why we breed and stock in intervals.
Market prices are rock bottom compared to operation costs.
No money to made at the auctions unless you are the Auction company.
Don't sell!! Raise only what you can eat or cell directly to the end costumer!
We have a say here, if you go to the market and see your neighbor sell in a low price don't buy because you hurt him, and if he is selling in a hige price don't buy because you hurt yourself. The price should be fair to both sides!

That is not good. I try to give mine time, but at some point little bucklings have to go. I am glad I held the spotted boy though. I got shafted on the two I took to the sale. They went for $2.00 a pound which was average tonight. Absolutely awful.
Dax you don't eat your goats /bucks ?
30-40 kg yearling will give you 14-18 kg of wonderful meat!
2$ a pound =4$ a kilo 30 kg buckling will give you 120 $ I have selld CHICKENS in this prises.

There were pig auctions when I had my pigs, but there were no more soon after. I think there may be a buyer of slaughter hogs, but you must be with a company or raise contract hogs for one of the large companies to sell to them. Everyone with hogs sell privately I'd assume. It's so sad. Hogs used to be a viable income for a lot of people.

There's no water, I put rice in for 8 hours but no change, if it hasn't worked by morning maybe I'll have to go buy some charcoal too! Thanks for all the tips guys! Much appreciated to everyone!
I am just wondering, in Bangkok the average humidity is almost 80%!!
And they DO hatch chicks! So how can it be? How it isn't a problem there? I wonder.....
