I miss the kind ya flip over. I hate my pillow top.It was springs on springs.Dumb idea. I want a pillow top for these old bones. Same ones that Days Inns use. That's heaven right there.

I had wondered if after lock down I should keep my humidity a tinch lower if I can’t correct the humidity better. Thanks for the info.bbq grill charcoal... I run almost no water until day 18 HERE IN FLORIDA.. And try to stay at around 55-60% 19-21 for my chicken eggs.
I don't know how your weather is. It rained cats n dogs here today.. You can taste the wet air like a boiling snowflake.
I have had humidity issues in the past because of spikes during the final 3 days while the chick is absorbing the rest of the blood.
Gooey mess.. Watch that Calibrated Hydro meter.
I cast upon you good fortune as well.![]()
Oh noo, Just seeing this..so sorry.its what i get for free ranging
i was looking at them the other day trying to figure out which ones i was going to butcher
i guess my mind has been made up for me
too bad i dont get to eat them
and i lost most of the birds i was going to show this weekend

I personally never.. ever..use the plugs. And, I keep my humidity around low to mid 30s during the first 18 days. Then up it to 50s during lockdown. I use a still. I have both still, and an air flow, I prefer the still. Use some rice in a nylon stocking like suggested! Take it out once it gets down into the 30s, see what happens. If you have to put a new one back in, do it.This is my first time hatching but I'm pretty sure my humidity is way too high. I'm at day 6, the humidity has stayed 60-70% most of the time it's finally gotten down to 49% but then I removed the second red plug for oxygen and humidity is climbing again! Checked the weather and on this bright sunny day the humidity is 79%. I live by the coast but other than a few hot days in the summer it doesn't really feel humid so I never realized. What can I do to decrease the humidity? I spent a lot of money to have these hatching eggs shipped I'd hate to have them all drown!
