EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

It was springs on springs. Dumb idea. I want a pillow top for these old bones. Same ones that Days Inns use. That's heaven right there. :love
I splurged and bought a mattress topper recently. Best thing I ever did. My back loves me now... Well, not all the time, but it's better.

I ice...therefore I am. :wee
You ice the puck?? Shame on you. To the penalty bench for 2 minutes.

We have only one here. I think it is the second Friday of every month, desparate farmers unloading their under fed stock to private buyers.
Now in the spring, The southeasten youth fair has FFA/4H animals selling for HUGE MONEY.. Even Publix attends and purchases as a public relations gesture. A handi cap child's pigs sold at over $850 one year. Our daughters at $650 (cost 650 to raise it too)
Big difference when selling prices when the cause is for children.

I could go to an auction everyday, but Sunday around here. The closest one is seven miles up the road, they have livestock and hay auction every Wednesday, they do poultry then, too

@mlm Mike What is your favorite treatment for tapeworms? I have started valbazen I got a doe and doeling from a breeder this year and both of them have tapeworms.
If you do valbazen do you do two follow ups or just one?

Is there any pasture treatment?

I don't recall the goats ever having tapeworms, generally I use Ivermectin. I can't get to the goat records at them moment.

Oh my is it ever, especially when you have a strong little life, she fought! This morning she was weak and I could tell it was just getting harder for her. So I gently let her go to sleep. Mixed the carbon monoxide and let her go. :hit

How many people have you ever seen stopped on the Railroad tracks waiting for the Red Light to change in backed up traffic?
If you are one of them you won't do it again after watching this video.

Would never stop on train tracks, that's really dumb.

I am feeling kinda guilty.
Is it evil to happily sing, "The Itsy-bitsy Spider" while washing a spider down the drain in the shower?

LOL, it's fine, but why not sind "Boris the Spider"?

Maybe a prob with the runt piglet.

:tongue Hope it's not related to Natural Selection..:(

I hope he's ok. :fl

Even with the rice in the incubator the best I can get is a humidity of 48%, I almost feel loved me it’s stuck there. I suppose it’s better than the 60-70%. Someone recommended charcoal. Is there a certain kind? Where would I buy it? Any other thoughts?

What day are you on? Have a plan but that humidity could work, watch air cells.

I have looked at your pictures but I have never done this and I just had my flashlight from my head light. All I can tell what's the difference between the dark three-quarters of the egg and the top Air cell. My question is is it ready to hatch her or are they dead, and I don't know the difference. I don't know when to put these chicks under her I don't want to kill those eggs that are there but I don't want to wait too long and she abandons the nest either.

She take the chicks ok?
