EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Has anyone else noticed that their mutts take ages to molt? All of mine (~5) seem to drop about 1 feather at a time. All my purebreds have been done for about a month, and the mutts are in the middle still.
On of my traderjoes hens molted. She dropped the feathers quickly, did not go completely featherless and was back to laying eggs in 4 weeks.

They are hyline white x hyline brown commercial crosses. This one looks like a leghorn and lays white eggs

I know my chickens are supposed to molt, but believe it or not, I haven't seen my chickens molt in the 2 years we've had a big flock. hahaha
Not all of them molt super hard. Some will get a bare neck and some just lose feathers and replace them as fast as they lose them.
First molt is often at 1.5 years old depending on when they hatched. After the firs molt they will repeat yearly until the get older. Then the molt at shorter time periods.

They molt harder each time too.
