They chit more than my chickens did and made everything stink.

Exactly, cute cuddly chicks so I don't bawl my eyes out over my lovely little turkeys getting slaughtered.

A lady I got some Araucana eggs off of had turkeys and gave me three - over here no-one eats turkey, not like a full blown turkey roast. You get turkey sliced, but never the real thing. And it's ABSOLUTELY expensive. Tried to buy some the other day, asked for a big chunk of it instead of them slicing it for me, get to the checkout and as I'm loading up groceries I notice my packet of turkey is labelled at $51.00 - I almost choked, asked to have it taken back and said "I had no idea this stuff was $49.99 a kilo!" - poor checkout lady was apologetic and said the deli guy should have told me it was that expensive. Hubby would have had kittens if I'd come home with $50 of mediocre turkey!!!!!!

Good luck not becoming attached to the turkeys.. Turkeys are like big feathered dogs..

They follow us wherever we go, if we do not go outside often enough for their tastes, they jump on the deck and stare in to windows at us.

Babies in the winter? Doesn't sound like much fun at all.

it does to me, I had a heck of a time with coccidia this summer being so wet with kids, I would sooner cold than damp n mud with kids. (i know I say that now lol)

It is not a case of not finding any..IT is more a case of finding, buying and bringing home without having arsenic pudding for dessert.
