Chomper Dog found them.. I had to snag them while mother was attacking me. There WAS five. Dog got one. I saved 4..

I'm still 222 messages behind, but I'm gonna 'pop' in here to state that we say,
Breakfast,
Lunch,
Dinner,
Soda,
& I only add the extra 's' if I'm abbreviating the word 'is'.

For the record, my inlaws are from MI & WV. My SIL always says pop (sounds like Pahp) but my MIL calls all soda 'coke'. After 22yrs, this still frustrates me to the core!
It took me YEARS to figure out that even though she wanted 7up she would call it a coke. Now that I know how this works, I say to her, "Ok, what does that really mean? You want 7up? Root beer? Pepsi? ...." She always says, "Diet." (Sigh!) I really think she doesn't care. As long as there's sugary bubbles coming thru a straw into her mouth she's happy. (My own mother is a totally different story... If she orders a coke, that better be what's in her cup.)

The oddest one I ever heard came from DH's aunts in WV.
Me: Heres a water for Jr.
Aunt: No he's fine, we just gave him a coke.
Me: Its too hot for coke, he needs water so he doesn't get dehydrated.
Aunt: Its fine, its a 7up.
Me: Um.... Huh????
DH: Let it go. 7up is the same as water.
Me: Um... No. Its not.
DH: Its clear. Its the same.
Me: Huh???
DH: Just let it go.
(Fast forward 20yrs & I'm still confused... 7up is clear & therefore the same as water?!) How's that for a geographical abnormality.

He was confused.. his job is removing rodents and predators.. not mad at him.. He doesn't harm my chickens. He just has never been around them so young. to him it was a mouse or a mole. Just glad I was there to save the rest.
It is raining in Biblical Purportions rite now... I think I saved them from drowning as well. The snakes are at a higher than normal ratio too.

Some of my fondest memories of childhood was going into town to Woolworths. Mom would shop for odds and ends and we would always sit at their Soda Fountain. I miss that concept. Like an non alcoholic bar off to the side of the store. Floats, short order food and the guy with the paper hat.
THEN WE GOT OLDER! Soda became a booze mixer..

7up is the same as water.

Diet drinks are disgusting and unhealthy. Sugar subs are making our country ill.
If you are trying to loose weight, instead of ordering a diet coke with your double/triple cheese burger, try 1 cheeseburger and a water.
Look at Michael J. Fox.. Diet Pepsi wacked his life upside down.
If artifical sweeteners cause cancer in lab rats, why is it still on the market?
Sugar is good in moderation. Like everything.. moderation and self control. I grew up with a sugar bowl on the breakfast table. Now a days that would be child abuse to offer sugar at free will.

Now.. NO SUGAR FOR MY COFFEE, NO SUGAR FOR MY TEA!
