If I remember correctly.. 12 was 5 cent deposit, 16 oz was 10 cent deposit, a quart was 15 maybe? Soda glass bottle wise. THAT GLASS WAS THICK AND HEAVY! Not like today's disposable beer bottles.

Last time we had 25 dark brown 300 ml beer bottles from one brand, another dozen from another brand, something like 30 250 ml soda bottles, and usually will get about $50-75 for the lot.

Was anyone else taught to pop the old can tabs off & plop them inside the drink, so you wouldn't step on them later?

Better to swallow them now than step on them later?

Here in CA - we are charged I think 5c per 6 pack (I stopped paying attention, and am not positive of the fee) when we buy beverages. So, we bring anything we paid a deposit on back to the recycle folks. For trash pickup, we have 3 separate bins - recycle, yard waste and trash. 3 separate trucks come by each week.

Just sold my entire Halloween Hatch Birds and not even hatched yet... pre liquidation... thank goodness.. We did a rough count tonight. 225 birds for sale. Not including my 75ish egg layers, 25 breeders and the free for all birds.
DH broke up a roo fight earlier and a rooster latched onto his fore arm like an alligator and would not let go. drew blood. He snatched it by the neck and coach whipped it... No more bully rooster... hello smokey supper.
Or dinner... what ever the kids call it these days.
