A little bit, but mainly alfalfa.

I only fed my babes dried and brown alfalfa.. the fresh stuff messes them up

Good day everyone! About to start getting lunch ready, but thought I'd pop on and see what everyone is up to! I've got 3 chicks hatched at the school. Last two eggs there and the one at home haven't pipped...hope they make it!

I'm glad some at the school hatched, hopefully the rest hatch soon.

Haven't candled the taped egg again yet, it's currently in a bowl with wet towels on the bottom and plastic wrap over the top with a couple air holes popped in it. Staggard hatch and all that...

Never had a drowning prob w/my hatches unless there was a leg brace or foot correction issue.
NOW MY Turkeys... They are just plain dumb. They have been known to fall asleep in the water. Even @ 10 weeks old.
These chicks are all mutts from jersey giants/rocks/horns/sunflowers/& second generation mutts.
Pretty docile, clever and alert. Today or tomorrow they go into a bigger brooder with LOTS more room. That is only the dry out tub. 21 eggs, 17 in tub & 5 in bator still. Today is day 21, most were hatched on day19.
