It's a separate box with a heat supply for eggs after day 18 (25 if duck) of incubation. It reduces contamination of incubating eggs and makes staggered hatches easier humidity-wise. Generally, it can be used as an incubator too, not Ralph's cabinet but many others can.

Has to have higher humidity, which can screw up eggs not ready to hatch if you keep it up for long enough.

After seeing the mess Sally had in her incubator I was thinking it might be smart to have a separate Hatcher. I wanted to clean incubator out of a foam cooler but I worry it wouldn't sanitize too well

And I DID have eggs hatch under my broody duck mama so ha.

Doesn't count. If it did, I would have been hatching for 4 years come next spring.
