EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I have to say... I keep the environment clean, use gloves etc but I’ve never cleaned anything off my hatching eggs! I suppose I should get any nasties off. What is the safest way?
I use one of those flat pads that look like indoor/outdoor carpeting. We have 2; one for dirty eggs, one for pots & pans. I can usually keep them separate

If I was at my Putor..., I would be posting the shaking nervous head here...

You need to open them,,,remove eggs and close it...the incubator can be opened ....if you are wearing gloves and stuff....I just don't candle...I do open for a sniff test once in a while.
So in the event you do have an egg blow up. What then? What do you do?
How can you clean it up Without hurting the rest of the eggs?

I have had one or two leak, they never completely blew... I took the eggs out of the dirty rack, wiped off any yuck, put them in a clean one and stuck it back in the bator... oh, and the bator smells for a while after so I leave it open for about 10min per day until it airs out.

So. . stupid Southie question. Do I need a separate incubator for them to hatch in? I read a lot of people on here talking about putting their eggs in a Hatcher at lock down. Is this the best thing to do or do most of you just hatch in the same incubator?
Preference more than anything, I think. I only use one 'cause I only have one. Never heard any complaints yet.
