I've been a little mia - had a health issue that cropped up and spent 4 days in the hospital last week, and still figuring out WTF happened. Saw a cardiologist and having an Echo on monday - we suspect pre-Eclampsia in the early stages, and my heart condition because it's a leaky valve is making my BP yoyo up and down which is why the OB's weren't sure WTF was going on. They use a different BP protocol for pregnancy patients, then my heart doctor would for a pregnant patient with my heart condition.
I may end up on beta blockers next week, but the brain confusion/fuzziness is awful. I've never had heartburn, or vomited this pregnancy, or had chronic, daily migraines, or pressure headaches or ringing ears. This has really sucked and it just started happening out of the blue about 3 weeks ago with an increase in BP. I've been on BP meds, 4x a day and I'm almost back to my normal range again, but the other symptoms are still kind of there and I just feel sick.
BAby is doing great, and the baby chicks I was allowing my daughter to hatch, hatched. We only lost 2, out of the ones my daughter stuck in the incubator.
I wanted to take the kids to chinese since hubby's working tonight, but I'm not sure he's going to let me go. LOL I just got my morning BP under control and he thinks it will be too much for me to go alone

Yes! My boys are 3 & 6. I make both the boys sit down to hold the chicks, with a towel over their lap (poop will happen). I show them how to hold them using two hands, older one does it pretty well by his self so I am free to monitor/help the younger. After a while you explain that the babies need help keeping warm and are getting cold, so we need to put them back under the heat. Fold up towels, wash hands and lay down rules that chicks are only picked up with mommy! Also don't let your kids kiss the chicks. Salmonella and all that.
EDIT: also, if you buy the smallest size crickets or some mealworms at the pet store, it is really fun to watch the chicks chase them around! I usually wait a week so the chicks are a little bigger. It's a lot of fun!
