EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Knee deep in chicken stuff and life. The 15 chicks are growing fast. Sorting through the adults. Finding quite a few hens not up to size so quite a bit of sorting.
I am glad you got some hens and that you are willing to be choosy even with them. I keep getting 50-75% Cockerels so it is hard to be choosy with such a limited number. I am glad I am not a serious breeder.

Big log in the stove, dinner is ready and outdoor chores are done. Headed down into the teens tonight plus windchill. After being near 70 this last weekend the critters and I are not enjoying it.
Yes @BantyChooks :)frow how is the coop project working out) it is not near you, but I learned after moving here that the fifty plus degree shifts here like last winter on a Saturday when it was seventy in the morning, raining in the afternoon and icing and snowing by afternoon with at temperature of -5 by night fall that that is the worst. At least you could get used to the cold where I grew up.

Roof is done, inside is painted, windows cut—just HWC on windows & baseboards left, and I can move them in!

Thought of you all today... we saw the local sled dog team coming back from a run when we were out riding. Benny and Ralphie would have loved that & made endless VWN jokes, eh.
