EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Yes they were. They grew up together but had spent the summer apart.
I was holding the flashlight in my teeth while I tried to put a sheet of plywood between some with one hand while I held the most aggressive one with another hand.

That does not sound like much fun. All my current males have lived and gotten along with each other for their whole lives, bar one AM cock that was introduced a few months ago. He's good with all of the existing males except my Silkie. He's terrified of the Silkie, lol.

I hatched some mid December eggs. Out of 10 from one flock due Dec. 5, six hatched.
Out of 12 from two other flocks due Dec. 8, they all hatched. First time I ever got a 100% hatch from a setting in a Little Giant - my embryo executioner.
Congratulations!

I almost got a 100% in a LG a year ago, but one egg quit just before internal pip. It was a malposition.

I'm not sure why it went so badly that one time. I was fairly pleased with the way it went the other time, except for the one that died.

Well my temperature remained steady during incubating. And I have the eggs laying on shelf liner not the shiny stuff it has gripper on it. I got the eggs through the mail.so I am not sure what happened but I will just have to work with the one that has the biggest issue it won't stand up
If it’s only been a day, be patient. Sometimes it just takes a day or three (but that should be it) to uncurl.

It is still 26 (18 w/wc) here. Duckling was playing, and the dog was trembling in my coat. Poor puppy.
I feel your pain.. we had 22* at sunrise this morning. The dog water iced over like pudding skin. 56* at the time of this post. Shiver me timbers..
I feel a little OBSCURED my self today..:gig
Anyone know what causes some chicks to have leg or feet issues? Does it have to do with genetics or humidity?
In my feet related probs, almost always related w/ Humidity.

It isn't poisoning, it is the main drive for our property as protectors and providers!
(And violence is part of it, sad but real.)
:frowBENNY! Are you ready for Wednesday? Happy Hanukkah!

So stupidity. It isn't poisoning, it is the main drive for our property as protectors and providers!
(And violence is part of it, sad but real.)
I dunno, I've seen some pretty dumb stuff that couldn't be classed as any of that. :p
