The cheapest colleges here don't offer any kind of vet classes. Then there's Auburn. Fantastic Vet school with a price to match what they're worth. I wanted to go there when I was younger. Now I realize that they're incredibly expensive and I'd probably spend the rest of my life paying it off. I'd still love to go there, I'm just more realistic than I was as a kid or teen. Although, they have started offering online classes for some of the Vet related classes...

I got a job! After trying for the past year, I finally got a job! Sure, I'm just starting out as a cashier at PetSmart, but it's something! You know what this means? After the bills are caught up, there are chickens in my future! Months from now, but still. Chickens.

Half of Miami is calling me the last couple days asking for a super deal bulk price on our entire stock. Wanting to pay nothing for the last 24 pigs we have.
For Dec.31st..

That would mean no compensation for care/boarding/our time-labor... Breeders feed, feeders feed, shots/health care.
Everyone calling wants us to spend all of our time and hard earned dollars so they profit on the pig shortage down south.
My line is..."Sorry.." "WE ARE NOT AN AUCTION HOUSE FOR DESPERATE FARMERS TO DUMP OFF THEIR STOCK". "Find a weable-bugged dog food feeding pig farmer if you can't afford quality pigs"..

Phone is ringing every 5 mins. (How many pigs u got...? how much for all..? will you take...?)
I need a translator and a secretary. I Turned off the ringer.. every call is going to voicemail now. Will weed them out from there later.
The last caller offered $75 for 2 -175# Gilts & 11 -fifty# Hampshires.
$75 buys barely 6 bags of grain. I go thru 4 bags a week on the 175# pigs alone..

It cost well over $75 in feed for the sow during 3.3 months of pregnancy, then raising the piglets to 50#!
I think they do it because a woman answers their calls.
This happens every year.
Time to screen out 305 area code callers..

Don't you hate it when buyers think you must be some sort of moronic idiot (and think they are so smart).
Presumably your add states the price you are selling them for.
I once had some idiot want 20 cream Legbar pullets for $5 each.
Another person purchased 30 4 week old chicks for $5 each, and did not pick them up till they were 17 weeks old due to "moving house" and then complained that half were boys. This person is on BYC as well!!
I am older and wiser now...

I think I posted about this here a while back and promised to show the finished project. My dad's quilt got done just in time for Christmas Don't mind the date and "wonderful" recording job. My son recorded it for me on his new GoSo (generic go pro) and didn't set up the date and time first lol.

It is illegal to import them even if the breeder have all the certification of this world (there is a legal way a ton of red tape and a 100% negative answer in the end, it is controlled by the farmer union and you don't have a chance )WHILE the government import between 100 to 150 milions egg every year from Spain, Turkey and Ukraine, which sometimes are infected with Salmonella and other sh_ _ ! So we say to the government the "letter between E and G" word and bring what we can.

With that kind of attitude, you all would make great Americans!
