My bantams always hatch ahead of my full size chicks. But, I run my temps at 100.4 to 100.6. Temps that are too low, can cause the eggs to hatch late. You said floating....when chicks are fully grown, there is no room for them to move, there should be no fluid visible in there. Only the air cell with hopefully a draw down dip where they are starting to get ready to hatch.

When I said floating I was talking about in the bowl of water when water candled

Ok bantams hatch early I think. Never hatched them but that’s what I remember. Any other small breeds?

No rain, we are in full summer! 22-23 C° really bad situation for all nature and farmers. We have the best desalination technology here, almost 40% from our water come from it, but it is for human consumption not agriculture or wild plants and animals. We are in a rampaging desertification process.

We have canal water for plants, when there’s enough storage as in snow. Non potable unless super filtered. City metered water for drinking now, we had to abandon our well, it never was good. Water meters are like gold here and the fee I paid didn’t buy the meter only the right to pay them for water.
Although we are getting normal rain but there’s been little snow. Drought may be officially over but it’s not naturally over.
Hope you get relief in the way of rain without the flooding

Awe, well this is also how I learned with assisting. First few I waited too long. Hopefully next hatch will be better. Really watch thermometers as they can change between hatching. And as jessimom says I also run my higher. But you must know the thermometer is spot on.
Judging by chick it looks like humidity was good.
Sometimes they just aren’t meant to hatch. Even my broodies aren’t 100%.
I seldom assist anymore. The chicks just don’t do well as adults

@Akrnaf2 & @Pensmaster I agree they are unique but they have such amazing personalities!
Baby is doing so much better today. She’s out with the others in the brooder and I’m making sure to push water with Poly vi Sol 3 times a day to get her some strength.

I’ve had them before. They just didn’t fit what I wanted. I’ve also had NN silkies. They were cute but too many critters liked to eat them.
