I am trying to decide if I want to mess with a brooder, or wait on a broody. I hate integrating chicks.

@mlm Mike One of the show does I reserved a kid from is due now. The other is due in February. It is an investment, but I am hoping to close my heard except for the occasional buck or semen infusion. I have a chance to get either five straws from a great buck, or one of his kids. The cost is the same. Which would you do?

If I had a market for extras, I'd probably go with the straws; 5 chances to get an outstanding baby.

I don't know how to do AI and have no method to preserve. So I'd take a good kid, bird in the hand and all.

. A live kid verses the questionable AI is a real quandary.
I would use a service to hold and breed the does. I just like the first generation part. I have also lost baby kids that are transported. They are in WA. A live kid though is a step ahead.

We were actually checking out checking out real houses...open houses of ones we could never afford. Pretty nice!
