EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I think that alot of the members spend an ever growing time period in the As..book and all that garbage.
I, so far, have avoided joining Facebook.
I need to because there are important chicken related things going on there I should be involved with but have resisted.

I will never join, no matter how important is the staff there,
I am almost the only member left in our forum here and they try to convince me, but I am not convinced.

CC I have here a 17 weeks black Pendensenca pullet that I really want you to have! I that it will be much useful to you , than me.
Thanks. It would surely be useful. I'm happy with my current flocks even though they still need improvement. But at least I haven't lost entire flocks to mink or raccoons in the last couple years.
If I get my task list caught up with, I need to install trap nests so I can determine which hens get sold.

Which generation is this flock ? F4?

Social media is not essential to life. I'm happy enough with the internet as it is.

I have joined for a few breed club matters. I can say that the number of people there that know what they're talking about in terms of breeding and showing is much higher than here.

The fact places can be made private/members only means the breeders are willing to share more information too. Like BYC, Facebook can be a useful tool, and it can also be a means for an invasion of privacy and spewing of nonsense.

For instance, how many APA licensed judges do you know of that are active on BYC? Few to none. I have talked to several on Facebook without having to hunt them down. I am sure for you it is not as important because you know what you're doing already, but for the newbie---me---their knowledge is invaluable.

That is true on all counts.

Sometimes I'm not so sure. I seem to learn something new every day, even at this late stage in life.
If you ever stop learning, then's the time to say goodbye and go canoe gracefully over a waterfall. Still, if knowledge were able to be qualified, you'd be head and shoulders above many---that much I am certain of.
