EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I've heard that if you put a blanket over the trap the skunk won't spray, but nobody's ever said how to get close enough to throw the blanket. I wouldn't trust it. Only time I've ever trapped a skunk I got about 40' away & shot it.
Perfect!

Then get the Banty's neighbor kids to get it out of the trap!

Likely still sprayed right?

Nope! Shot it in the head. Skunks have a smell anyway, but not like when they spray.
that sounds like the best way to get them out!

Be careful though. Here in California a large number of skunks carry rabies.

Lots of peeps here! 20 together.

You're more woman than I am man, then. Next time I trap one I'll come get you and save the price of a bullet.
If I ever don't have my ever-so-helpful neighbour kids about, I'd probably go up very gently, settle a blanket over it, and drop the whole kit and caboodle into a garbage can filled with water. They're pretty nice fellas if you don't tease them too much. Ain't no way I'm copying said neighbour kids; they let the thing out and then shoot it! Yes, they did miss once. Yes, the whole yard smelled.
