We’ve never been in high winds that the police weren’t out, chasing down morons that wanted to keep driving. Even my husband will pull over. Granted, he hates it, and will be mad as a hornet if he is getting near his delivery time (he likes being three hours early. ), but he stops for high winds.

I live in a valley, on one of the highways leading in to the valley goes around a bend, that opens to gaps on both sides. We have what they call Santa Ana winds. These can hit 60 mph, and during those winds. As you come around that bend with high mountains on both side, and hit that gap, the gusts hit HARD. We regularly have semis tip over.
