Broody Cochin hatched 3 bantam chicks today on day 20, something was off with a 4th chick and it didnt survive long past hatch. Never really gained any color or vigor, like it couldn’t oxygenate efficiently and she wouldn’t keep it under her. Anyone seen that happen before?

Debating on separating her from the other bantams, she’s still on the nest but I know it won’t be long before she takes them out into the run for a stroll.

Not sure about the 4 th but it’s a good idea to separate the broody from the other hens at least for awhile.
