EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

The two in front - the brown ones, I prefer the physical shape and coat of the one on the right, if I had to pick.
Mayhem definitely draws the eye and has the better color it's dark red he's got a black dorsal stripe and really defined white markings, but Bedlam has some really nice lengtg to his structure that I like. I'm just going to wait and see how they turn out don't have to hurry and I can't lose this bloodline so they both get to stay for awhile.

Makes sense! I can understand your hesitation.

And until I can get them collected you never know what's going to happen the next day I mean Echo was not showing any symptoms in a day later he was dead

I lost both my breeding males, and one of my female nubians, after a bad snow storm. We never get snow here. they got wet, and then went into shelters and froze. We didn't have heated shelters. The goats who stayed up and moving, didn't freeze to death. :/ It upset me so much to lose my boys. I just bought a new male, but he's not breeding age yet :(

I remember you losing them and I know how much it hurts the heart when that happens. I hope your new boy turns out well Connie's talking about being Buck listen and you got one and I have my yearling buck that was a close companion and I sold my lower back last week and but I have four villains that are slotted to be held onto his potential bucks. I hope to end up with 3 but eventually. The two black ones in the background of that picture come from very different lines the one is a star status grandson the other is out of branicur top shelf. Then I got several other males that are just been born like the one I asked for an opinion on. My goal is not really to keep him but I'll probably keep him to fall just to see what his daddy is producing how he turns out.

This is the sister of that buckling I asked about. The two are fires first kids so it'll be interesting to see how they turn out. I like her too

So on the chicken front do I keep my layers or my Heritage Rhode Island Reds? I am on a major Purge I'm getting rid of all my Boers except for a pair that are my pets. I'm going down to one horse and going down to run cow and a steer. I'm done spending so much time working not only doing the chores but aren't in the money to feed them all.

Do the HRIR not lay well?
Do you smile when you walk into the HRIR pen, because their shape and presence is what you love, or are they so-so & just more money to keep than the layers? So sorry you've been having such a rough time. :hugs
