EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I was just reading about how it increased hatch rates tremendously , so much so that it's patented. I'm still going to err on the side of caution, I believe and not do it.
I don't steralize my eggs. they go in, dirty or not. I clean the brooders out with bleach inbetween uses... but chickens in nests don't clean their eggs, and poop around them, so I figure a little germy egg with a few other germy eggs is probably okay.

Well, I mean they're important and were "expensive " ( to me ).
I'm just really nervous about the new incubator all around and I'm really debating on hand turning. Unfortunately, my boyfriend is forcing me out of the house and to the beach for vacation soon.
I almost always leave the natural bloom on the shells. If there is a rare exception, which is not very often, if a tad bit of poo is on an "Important Breed" egg, I mix a solution of Listerine original formula with H2O (50/50) and clean said Important egg.
I am a fanatic on clean nesting boxes in my breeder houses. Clean eggs = higher hatch rates. Higher hatch rates pays my bills. So clean out every box at the crack of dawn.
I have never heard of using peroxide, nor will you ever here me saying I tried.View attachment 1302625

View attachment 1302644 Sorry but I am way out in left field on this on.
As well as being a stickler on hand turning and rearranging the orientation positions. I have turners, boxed up in my closet. Waiting for the day I'm going out of town for a while or so.
I hope somebody can answer your questions more efficiently..View attachment 1302645

Do the HRIR not lay well?
Do you smile when you walk into the HRIR pen, because their shape and presence is what you love, or are they so-so & just more money to keep than the layers? So sorry you've been having such a rough time. :hugs
Thank you I'm just overwhelmed. I do love the look of the Heritage Rhode Island Reds but they don't lay like the commercial layer's by any means. I also like my colorful eggs. The roads are supposed to live longer though and be productive for a longer time.

@BantyChooks so has your weather let up at all yet? Anything Green aside from the Evergreens.
