EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

HPIM0386.JPG Finally. This is the planter I came across @ TSC last week. So cute I couldn't resist. There's a little Bluebird on a branch above the hen, but it must be camera shy. It lights up; solar panel on the base.

Move to Canada; might take a tad longer for the crash to hit.
Hey, Kid :frow
Good to know you survived the weekend in one piece. May take y'all a tad longer if you buy a lot of imported products, but you won't be far behind us. Unfortunately, products that we consider indispensable, like automobiles, are all made overseas anymore.

What do you do about loner ducks? Aretha Franklin was the only female “Pekin” from TSC the first year they sold Muscovies as Pekin. So that would make her two. She had a boyfriend (he’s not the one I ate  ) but I only wanted one drake, and that was my Pekin JoJo. Janice Joplin (aka Banty) was born a few months later, and is fine with her parents. Aretha is occasionally mated, and I’ve never seen anyone chase her off.
She seems so lonely, and it’s breaking my heart. Any suggestions on the why and what to do?
Edited to add that the other female born that year isn’t a loner.

:idunno Haven't dealt with that, sorry. :( I do have one kind-of loner duck, but she seems happy—just distracted. She's the one that would get lost as a duckling because she'd become absorbed in catching flies and forget where the flock was.
