Here goes nothing! The eggs are in the incubator. I’m debating switching one out tomorrow. There’s a long egg that is less likely to hatch.
Other things working against me: You get what you pay for. This incubator really is junk.
It’s foreign (measures in Celsius
), I had to remove the glue hairs left by the glue gun. It’s loud, and vibrates (I worry about the eggs shaking so much!). It incubates vertically (which I prefer), so I have to use coasters to rotate the whole machine throughout the day.
I’ve never successfully incubated green or blue eggs. Broodies are always needed for that.
The ambient humidity is 57%. This thing doesn’t have room for a bag of rice. I will try to fit a plastic egg of rice in, but I don’t think I can with the hygrometer in there.
