EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I officially filed a small claims court against my neighbor. The constable got a picture of their dogs with my duck yesterday. I lost some turkeys to them now, too and they are digging at my goat pen where I have a baby boer goat being raised with my pet pig.

A rough estimate in damages/losses, is 1,132. I filed for 900, and said I'd forgo that if they got rid of all the dogs by June.

I'm so sorry that you have to go through all this. I hope that this pushes them into a quick submission.

I am sorry you have all of this drama going on. I/we would be totally freaking out. It is so said that this is still continuing. The owners should do prison time for their negligence and be held responsible immediately for the mental anguish they are aware they are causing you and your family.
I can not publish on the web what we would do in this type of situation if we were in your shoes on our property.
This is upsetting me just hear the whole ordeal and how it is still in progress. I have all my fingers and toes crossed real tight for you.

What a mess.

What's upsetting about all of this - is my daughter wanted to be their kid's friends. There's no way I can allow this now, because I won't allow my children to be friends with someone who's so irresponsible with animals and lacks such little care for their neighbors livestock/pets and other animals.

Even if I charge them for the animals lost, you cannot replace the time, energy and effort spent raising these animals. I mean, I have full sized turkeys that my toddlers can hug, geese that don't attack our children, chickens my kids carry around under their arms and walk around with... ducks you can hand feed and pet...

This is the product and effort of 2+ years of working with these animals and raising them in a way that they are good with children. We've culled bad animals, so bringing in random chickens to replace animals, means we have to cull bad/mean ones and only breed ones we KNOW are good with the right personalities. I had to go through a few roosters to get breeding roosters who were tame enough all my kids could handle. I don't think ths family really understand exactly how indepth this type of thing is, it's not just a 3 dollar chicken from TSC.

Hit 'em where it hurts the most. They'll come to understand really quick!

File animal cruelty charges against them. Call the humane society and tell them that the dog owners are aware that they are responsible for their property terrorizing and torturing the well being of your animals. Call PETA.. they are blood thirsty.

We are so rural, we don't HAVE a human society. LOL Animal control is the only thing we have here, and they have to follow county rules for the rural area we live. the JP was trying to figure out if she could get them cited for dangerous animals, but they need more then 1 official complaint to call them into court over it.

Since she's the principal of a school, my husband kind of wanted to report her to the school board for being so irresponsible when she's supposed to be setting a good example for children.
