So cute!!! good luck with the hatch!! Jess I will let know if these are fertile. I was telling Peter in PM that I am having issues with the BCM being spotted so I am adding calf manna and beet pulp and some other things to feed. I read it takes a while to see differnce but its the same hens that lay the dark eggs here as I only have four hens lol. we can chat if these are fert.

Sounds good. Marans are so tough to find and keep decent quality. I've had awful luck with them every time I tried. I swear they are one of the hardest, popular breeds around lol

what sucks is keeping constant egg color. ughhhh now you know I only have so many hens and seen me hatch their eggs and dang look at the spots now grrrrr and some are just light. oh well learning just sucks because I wanted to sell some eggs to help out with groc shopping but people expect to see those dark eggs right off the bat when selling them when half the time they are screwy.... so how do you explain that to people... ppl always want to think negative I think and it scares me to attempt to start selling dumb eggs lol

Fortunately, (or unfortunately if CC is lurking) WallyWorld is only 7 miles from here. It's a superstore, but I'll trade someplace else if I can; generally better quality, although most of what's out there make China very happy

yes but dang I cant stand shopping period!!! he goes so many times a week, never seen a man love shopping and spending so much, but at least I Dont have to go very much. alas works with my hermiitism

There are so many people out there selling "Marans" that lay regular brown eggs that I think everyone is just sceptical anymore. They don't trust them when they don't look that gorgeous chocolate color which makes it extra hard to sell eggs :/
