Hey, Mr. Coffee. Do you clean your grinder? An old post suggested grinding a cup of dry rice. Follow with a little (1/4C I believe) coffee.

Ours is a burr grinder so no I don’t clean it.

Interesting never thought about cleaning it. Ours is different I’ll have to look at it now and see if it comes apart.

I don't drink coffee anymore (sacrilege here I know ) but I remember it being important to clean the grinder and coffee maker from time to time. Coffee residue in the grinder can eventually get rancid.
I now use my grinder for hard whole spices like cinnamon sticks, cloves, nutmeg, anise, ginger, etc..
For the maker, I would run a course of white vinegar through it every couple weeks followed by plain water.

Ours hasn’t been cleaned since we got it. It makes individual cups measured into a small capsule for the coffee we choose. Those capsules get washed with each use.
I’ve never noticed a rancid smell from the grinder but I roast the beans that go through it and they are far less oily than what I’ve seen from the store.

I have not seen deer on my property since shortly after moving in. I assume it was because of human and canine activity.
This one was happy as can be for about half an hour.

Now I suddenly remember I need to cover the apple tree.

I just spent an arm and a leg buying All Flock in preparation for the ducklings. I vow to hunt down brewers yeast in the future. Ducklings are too needy.
