They're just always seems to be a chore like Flirt has otten so big I'm going to have to make my milk stand longer or build a new one. Just to give you an idea that's a 55 gallon drum there by her butt.

Hello! I really have missed you. I’m glad you popped in. I keep you in my prayers.

No pictures yet. Aretha Franklin is expected as early as Friday. She has an unknown number, but I’m guessing six. Janice Joplin is due about a week later. Janice (I swear I didn’t know about the nest until it was too late) has 18 eggs. Tomorrow I’ll have to get small hole fencing put up. I’ve been trying to think about which type would work best. I’ll know for sure when I actually do it. I also had to decide on how much to fence off. I’ve decided to start at the back, and see how far I get. I’ll keep enough fencing to block off what I can’t baby proof.
Sounds like a lot of work I hope you and duckling are enjoying the summer. I have missed you guys too, just simply have not had the time or the energy to get to anything extra. I haven't had a full night's sleep since the first week of February except for twice and today my body just finally said you're not going to work all day long so I've done a few little things but no real projects and I've been watching the guy that's been sick.

While I appreciate the kind words, it's more like I'm a suicidal person trying to kill myself this lack of sleep is terrible. I sold an extra cow and most of my blower goats and I've got a couple of horses for sale I just woke up one day and said I just can't do this anymore it's not fun I'm too tired I can't stand it but it takes time to get rid of stuff. I do love my Nubians though.

Pretty much why I sold most of mine although nothing like your ranch it’s getting to be too much. Will not let numbers get out of hand again. They want to buy more. We’ll see. Now that the older hens are gone the egg percentage is up.

Yeah I intend to get rid of my older hens. I'm just going to get some ISA's brought in and keep some of my reds. I'm not a breeder. I just want eggs and a few Reds to run around the yard. This is ridiculous and feeding birds that don't produce is is a waste of money I don't have.

Thank God it finally rained! I was working on the duck pen(s) today. Chickens were annoying ducks, broodies were flipping out, the chickens were in with the one broody, the other broody ran to the coop, and I sweat off the bug repellent. The bugs were the final straw. The forecast had changed to no rain for a week. I had come inside for yet another thing I didn’t know I’d need for the fencing. I sat down to lower my blood pressure.
Suddenly the sky darkened. :celebrate The chickens ran for the coop, the second broody ran for her eggs, and I was able to finish the fencing! :yesss: The thunder rolled, and the lightning striked. The dog was underfoot. The rain poured down into my face. I didn’t care! I was actually happy! :bun
So now I’m in a fluffy robe, ecstatic that I’m done with preparing for the hatches. I also got some other work done out there. Whoever thought farming in the rain could be a positive?
